Eastern Bhutan

Eastern Bhutan is underdeveloped as compared with the other parts of the country. People are still mostly dependent on agriculture. But it is great place for cultural tour. Now the international airport is coming up at Gelephu, which would make a visitor much easier to travel eastern part of the country.

Eastern Bhutan has much more dialects as compared to western Bhutan. The culture is bit different from the other parts of the country. Drinking locally brewed wine is very popular in the region as a norm. Drinking locally brewed wine has not created social problems but it has brought happiness and satisfaction to them.

Handicrafts is very popular in this region like textiles, bamboo products and wood products.

At Trashigang, there is a oldest college, Sherabtse college in the country.
